![]() ![]() Michal Keren Gelman’s ceramics GalleryMichal Keren Gelman’s ceramics emerge in her Galilee studio, clear, clean, bright. With music playing, oak trees in the window, her potter’s apron and good hands, clay, imagination – creation is happening. Michal Keren Gelman is a Bezalel graduate (the Academy for Arts and Design, Jerusalem). She lives and works in Mitzpe Hilla, on the Western Galilee. Once a jeweler, later a theater set decorator, her rich design ilanguage is well reflected in her ceramic designs. Michal’s ceramic-ware combines the traditional wheel craft with her unique technique of clay folding and engraving. Her work is decorated with silk print of delicate patterns which she draws and prints herself. Though delicate and so fine looking, Michal’s ceramics are amazingly practical, and oven, microwave, and dishwasher proof. You are most invited to take the softly winding turn from 89 road (Nahariya –Zfat), and visit the studio in Mitzpe Hilla. Enjoy a cup of fresh tea picked from her lovely herb garden, overlooking Rosh-Hanikra, served in Michal’s handmade tea pot and cups. You may touch and feel the textures, you may hold the beautiful dishes made with love and close attention. Discuss creation with Michal, talk about love; examine the materials life is made of. Come sense the pulse of life in the Galilee, and come home with uniquely beautiful and practical ceramics, for yourselves, and for the people you love. ![]()
